It is very important for you to know, is that if you are wanting to do the NEW JUDGES COURSE in your Province – please be aware that this is a one full bodybuilding season commitment expected from all applicants. This means that the following is involved for you to fully qualify as a Provincial Judge:
• TO COMPLETE THE THEORY COURSE
• TO WRITE THE THEORY EXAM
• TO TRIAL JUDGE AT THE THREE REQUIRED SHOWS WITHIN YOUR PROVINCE THROUGH THE YEAR
Your Province will host their New Judges course on a SATURDAY sometime between the 15th of January and the 28th of February. Once your name is down, they will be in touch with you personally two weeks before the course to give you all of the final details.
On your arrival to the course, you will receive the new JUDGES COURSE MANUAL and pay a fee of R100.00 which covers your once off membership fee to the IFBB and the cost of the manual. The actual course is FREE !! The Provincial Chief Judge will then go through the entire manual with you on the day. He/she will also have visual aids to assist in mock judging, discussion on physiques, debating topics etc etc. On completion of the theory course, you will return a week later to write the theory exam - the provincial chief judge will confirm the time and venue. You will now have one week to go over the manual again on your own.
YOU MAY ASK WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR YOU TO COMPLETE THE NEW JUDGES COURSE
* A love of the sport
* A keen eye
* You often sit at shows and do your own judging and are fairly accurate
* You would like to become involved in the IFBB and would like to become
a qualified Provincial Judge
* You would like to become an IFBB qualified National Judge
* You would like to become an IFBB qualified International Judge
YOU MAY ASK WHAT THE PASS REQUIREMENTS ARE TO BECOME A QUALIFIED PROVINCIAL JUDGE
The applicant will need to complete the theory course and successfully pass the theory exam with 80% or more.
The applicant will then need to available to complete trial judging at the three required shows within their Province through the bodybuilding and fitness season, and achieve an aggregate score of 75% or more for each show.
